Index Definitions

All index performance returns reported by B|O|S include the reinvestment of dividends unless noted otherwise.

Bloomberg Barclays 1-5 Year Gov/Credit Bond Index: A broad-based bond index that measures the non-securitized component of the US Aggregate Bond Index and targets bonds with maturities between 1 and 5 years. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Bloomberg Barclays CA Intermediate Muni Bond Index: An Index that covers intermediate-term tax exempt bonds issued by the state of California and its municipalities. The index includes California state and local general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, insured and prerefunded bonds. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Bloomberg Barclays Global ex US Bond Index: An index that includes investment grade debt from 24 local currency markets and includes treasury, government-related, corporate and securitized fixed-rate bonds from both developed and emerging market issuers. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Bloomberg Barclays Municipal Bond Index: An Index that covers the USD-denominated long-term tax exempt bond market. The index includes state and local general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, insured and prerefunded bonds. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Bloomberg Barclays US Aggregate Bond Index: A broad-based bond index that measures the investment grade, US dollar-denominated, fixed-rate taxable bond market. The index includes Treasuries, government agency bonds, corporate bonds and securitized fixed income securities. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Corporate High Yield Index: This index measures the U.S. dollar-denominated, high yield, fixed-rate corporate bond market. Securities are classified as high yield if the middle rating of Moody’s, Fitch and S&P is BB+ or below. U.S. dollar-denominated bonds from issuers in emerging markets are excluded. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Bloomberg Barclays US TIPS Index: An index that measures the performance of the U.S. Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) market. The index excludes any inflation protected securities held by the U.S. Federal Reserve. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Bloomberg Commodity Index: This index reflects the return of a broad basket of commodity futures contracts with the collateral invested in 3 month Treasury Bills. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Dow Jones Industrial Average: A price-weighted index that tracks 30 large, publicly traded U.S. companies trading on the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

FTSE NAREIT U.S. Equity REITS Index: A market capitalization-weighted index of all U.S. Equity Real Estate Investment Trusts excluding REITS designated as Timber or Infrastructure REITS. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

JPMorgan Global Non-US Government Bond Index Hedged: An index constructed of government bonds issued from developed countries outside the U.S. with the currency exposure hedged backed to the U.S. dollar. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

MSCI ACWI ex US Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that captures large and midcap companies in developed and emerging market countries excluding the U.S. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

MSCI ACWI Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that captures large and midcap companies in developed and emerging market countries, including the U.S. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

MSCI EAFE Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that captures large and midcap companies in developed countries around the world, excluding the U.S. and Canada. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

MSCI Emerging Markets Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that captures large and midcap companies in emerging market countries around the world. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

NASDAQ Composite Index: A market capitalization-weighted index of all domestic and international based on common stocks and similar securities stocks listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 1000 Growth Index: A market capitalization-weighted index composed of constituents in the Russell 1000 Index with higher price to book ratios and higher forecasted growth rates. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 1000 Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that consists of the 1,000 largest publicly traded stocks in the U.S. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 1000 Value Index: A market capitalization-weighted index composed of constituents in the Russell 1000 Index with low price to book ratios and lower forecasted growth rates. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 2000 Growth Index: A market capitalization-weighted index composed of constituents in the Russell 2000 Index with higher price to book ratios and higher forecasted growth rates. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 2000 Index: A market capitalization-weighted index of U.S. small cap stocks that consists of the 2,000 smallest publicly traded stocks in the Russell 3000 Index. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 2000 Value Index: A market capitalization-weighted index composed of constituents in the Russell 2000 Index with low price to book ratios and low forecasted growth rates. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 3000 Growth Index: A market capitalization-weighted index composed of constituents in the Russell 3000 Index with higher price to book ratios and higher forecasted growth rates. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 3000 Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that consists of the 3,000 largest publicly traded stocks in the U.S. and accounts for approximately 98% of the U.S. equity market. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

Russell 3000 Value Index: A market capitalization-weighted index composed of constituents in the Russell 3000 Index with low price to book ratios and low forecasted growth rates. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

S&P 500 Growth Index: A market capitalization-weighted index of S&P 500 Index constituents designated as growth stocks according to their book value, earnings, and sales to price ratio. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

S&P 500 Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that generally contains the 500 largest publicly traded stocks in the U.S., subject to certain restrictions. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

S&P 500 Total Return Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that generally contains the 500 largest publicly traded stocks in the U.S., subject to certain restrictions. The index includes the reinvestment of dividends. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

S&P 500 Value Index: A market capitalization-weighted index of S&P 500 Index constituents designated as value stocks according to their book value, earnings, and sales to price ratio. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

S&P MidCap 400 Index: A market capitalization-weighted index of 400 mid-sized publicly traded U.S. stocks. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.

S&P SmallCap 600 Index: A market capitalization-weighted index that seeks to represent the small-cap segment of the U.S. stock market. An index is unmanaged and not available for direct investment.
