Summer 2015: What’s New at B|O|S

We are pleased to introduce you to our newest member of the BOS team and to announce our latest employee promotion and new designations.

David Newson, Director of Marketing

DavidNewson_360x203David Newson joined BOS in July as our Director of Marketing. David leads the firm’s marketing and business development efforts. He is an experienced marketing professional and entrepreneur with over 13 years’ experience managing wealth management brands from private client legal practices to independent RIAs. Prior to joining BOS, David managed the marketing function at Aspiriant where he created and executed traditional and digital marketing strategies to enhance the client experience.

Freda Lam Zietlow promoted to Director

Freda Lam Zietlow has been promoted to Director. In her capacity as Director, Freda will continue to serve her existing clients and will assume a number of additional responsibilities, including establishing best practices within our portfolio management team and leading the firm’s research effort in socially responsible and impact investing.

Daniel Lee attains CFA designation

BOS Portfolio Manager Daniel Lee was recently awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation. The CFA® credential is one of the most respected and recognized investment designations in the world, covering concepts and skills connecting academic theory with current practice and ethical and professional standards. Daniel met the requirement of the program by passing all three, six-hour exams, meeting the work experience requirement, and attaining professional references. Daniel adds the CFA® designation to his existing CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. He is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco.

John Burns attains RICP® designation

BOS Principal John Burns recently completed his Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP) designation. The RICP® educational curricula is the most complete and comprehensive program available to professional financial advisors looking to help their clients create sustainable retirement income. The rigorous three course and six-hour exam process helps advisors master retirement income planning. Covering retirement portfolio management techniques, the mitigation of plan risks, the proper use of annuities, employer-sponsored benefits and optimal Social Security claiming ages, the RICP® provides a wealth of practical information for advisors.

New online capabilities coming soon

As part of our ongoing effort to improve the services we provide, we are excited to announce upcoming enhancements to our website. This includes developing a secure mechanism for our clients to view portfolio information, access and share documents, review market information, and more. Additional details will be provided as we approach the launch.

Copies of Form ADV and the BOS Code of Ethics available

As a Registered Investment Adviser, our firm offers each of its fee-paying clients, annually and at no cost, an updated copy of our Form ADV. This is a disclosure document detailing the background, business practices and philosophy of the firm. In addition, we also offer to our clients a copy of BOS’s Code of Ethics and our sub-advisers’ Form ADV (Breckinridge or SNW).
